The PowerShift Transmission Control Unit (PTP) is contained in the vehicle controller with the Chassis Control Unit (CCU) and the Vehicle Load Center (VLC) control unit.
PTP monitors direct inputs from sensors & switches (Hydraulic Oil Temperature Sensor, Fuel Level Sensor, Hydraulic Oil Filter Restriction Sensor, Park Brake Pressure Sensor, Clutch Enable Pressure Sensor, Diagnostic Hydraulic Pressure Connector, Air Brake Pressure Sensor, Carrier Speed Sensor, MFWD/ILS™ Speed Sensor, primary transmission speed sensor, secondary transmission speed sensor) and indirect inputs from other control units (via Controller Area Network [CAN] Bus messages), then executes the appropriate direction and speed functions via transmission components (B clutch (BC) solenoid, reverse clutch (CR) solenoid, clutch 1 (C1) solenoid, clutch 2 (C2) solenoid, C clutch (CC) solenoid, D clutch (DC) solenoid, A brake (AB) solenoid, clutch 3 (C3) solenoid, clutch 4 (C4) solenoid, park brake supply solenoid, park sump block solenoid, and air trailer brake solenoid).
