Vehicle Load Center (VLC) Control Unit – VLC and CCU are common between PowerShift Transmission (PST) and AutoPowr™ / IVT™. The VLC application is a solid-state load center on the control unit area network (CAN) bus. The purpose of a solid-state load center is to replace the fused or relay circuits previously used to power high current loads. VLC controls the majority of high current loads located outside the cab, such as inner & outer front hood flood lights, high & low beam headlights, front & rear washer pumps, and air conditioning compressor.
John Deere VLC fault codes / John Deere VLC diagnostic trouble codes
NOTE:This page only indicates the meaning of the fault codes. For complete troubleshooting information, see the technical manuals.
VLC 000628.02 (VLC 628.02)— VLC EOL Data Fault
Code Caused By: Vehicle Load Center (VLC) control unit detects that its End Of Line (EOL) memory failed at start-up.
VLC 000629.12 (VLC 629.12)— VLC Control Unit Fault
Code Caused By: Vehicle Load Center (VLC) control unit software failed to execute in allotted time.
VLC 001542.04 (VLC 1542.04)— Wake Up Signal Voltage Low
Code Caused By: Vehicle Load Center (VLC) control unit detects that the wake-up voltage from the Cab Load Center (CLC) control unit is low.
NOTE: Wake-up voltage is switched battery voltage (ELX), 12.5-14.5 volts. Vehicle Load Center (VLC) control unit functions limited.
VLC 001550.05 (VLC 1550.05)— A/C Compressor Clutch Circuit Current Low
Code Caused By: Vehicle Load Center (VLC) control unit detects that the A/C compressor clutch circuit is open.
Attention: Open circuit indicates current below 500 milliamperes (0.5 amps).
VLC 001550.06 (VLC 1550.06)— A/C Compressor Clutch Circuit Current High
Code Caused By: Vehicle Load Center (VLC) control unit detects that the A/C compressor clutch circuit current exceeds fuse rating of 7 amps.
VLC 002030.06 (VLC 2030.06)— VLC Circuit Current High
Code Caused By: Vehicle Load Center (VLC) control unit detects that its total circuit load current is above 75 amps.
Note: Any auxiliary A/C compressor, headlights, window washers, or horn added to the existing circuits can cause this overload code.
Attention: Individual load current drives (A/C compressor, various headlights, window washer, and horn) are disabled.
Associated Codes: This code is most likely a result of multiple ”current high” codes (XXXXXX.06). Each individual ”current high” (XXXXXX.06) code must be resolved before performing 002030.06 code diagnostics.
NOTE: If the total control unit load current exceeds the designated maximum amperage level, then the software automatically shutdowns individual drivers (control for load devices) in an attempt to lower the total control unit load current below its designated maximum amperage level. The software takes 8 seconds before it shuts down the first driver, while subsequent driver shutdowns happen in intervals of 2 seconds.
NOTE: The software determines order of driver shutdowns based upon three different factors: First – shut down drivers over their fuse ratings, beginning with the ones closest to their time-out limit. Second – shut down drivers according to the software’s predefined order of priority. Third – shut down drivers approaching their fuse ratings.
